What do Agency Nurses Do?

As an agency RGN or HCA, our staff are going into an array of establishments to support and work alongside the permanent staff teams.

Agency staff are used by hospitals, private homes, hospices, day centres and more. The variety of the work is what draws some members of staff to working for an agency rather than in a permanent placement. For others it is the flexibility to fit in with family, child care, and other demands on personal time.

Some establishments will ask for our staff for repeat shifts, this makes for a great combination for getting to know an area of work, whilst maintaining the agency basis.

Seems like a winning situation for all!

Apex Prime Care is delighted that it has established its new Nursing Department, and the ‘nursing desk’ is now open for business!

The new department in the Apex portfolio aims to supply Registered Nurses and Health Care Assistants to hospitals, as well as nursing and care homes.

The initial areas of coverage will be Dorchester and Poole, where we have secured contracts with one major NHS hospital, and several nursing homes.

There are many challenges to this new area of work, so to ensure they are met with professionalism and expertise, Apex has put in place a dedicated nursing staff team. Our Lead Nurse and RGN/HCA Manager are available to support the flexibility of our nursing staff.

As with all new businesses, there is much background work to be done before operational work can begin.

However, we have already secured some RGN’s and HCA’s, and they are taking assignments across the Poole and Dorchester areas.

A distinctly collaborative working relationship has been forged between the Nursing department and Head Office in Totton.

‘It has certainly been a learning curve for all involved, there have been many meetings and discussions, and explanations of processes and requirements from both sides, but we are all delighted in how it is all coming together’
